Welcome :)
NGCS - Next Generation Communication System
The codename NGCS stands for the next generation of communication systems, based on the knowlege of babarutzki, japplet, bbw, DDC2-CS, ddc-chat, oud*.
Currently we are in the alpha development stage; Parts of the client and server are already usable.
Our goals are:
- Cross plattform availability
- A highly flexible plugin-based system
- Strong runtime encryption
- Basic features: Instant messager, Chat, File transfers, Server-side file storage, User registrations and right management, Server crosslinking
- Open Source (GPL)
The project is split into several modules:
- Server: Native C Daemon for maximum speed.
State: PRE-BETA - Although some features aren't implemented yet, it is very stable now for months!
- Web interface: For monitoring / configuring servers and end-user account manegement / basic messaging and chatting functionality.
State: Under development

- Meta-Server: For crosslinking servers.
State: Not started yet.
- Client: Python using PyQT for portability.
State: PRE-BETA - Core is very stable as well as most of the core plugins - but it's still much more to do
- Password image generator: 4D fractal strong key material generator;
State: Finished

Download && running servers
Download is currently only possible via our public svn repository: (You need a svn client like kdesvn (Linux) or TortoiseSVN (Windows) to access the repository)

A public ngcs server runs under eXtIO.de, too. Feel free to register there and to have a look - a registration is now possible using the client login dialog.
